Guilford Racing 2011
Guilford Cup 2011 FleetMeet Party This year we’d like to expand FleetMeet into a full-fledged pre-season party. Of course we’ll spend a few minutes reviewing the racing schedule for all interested sailors from GYC and SHYC, and we’ll award prizes for the 2010 season including the Guilford Cup (Club Team Scoring), individual Evening Series results, and the Guilford Cup "Boat of the Year" for combined Wednesday Night, Holiday, and Overnight race results. And assuming there is sufficient interest, the plan is to have a late afternoon pig roast and a keg of liquid refreshment on Saturday, May 21 at 3:00PM at the GYC Osprey’s Nest. An RSVP will be required. A $10 donation at the door per person will be most welcome. If we don’t end up reaching critical mass for a pig roast, we will stick with a couple of hours for beverages, prizes and schedule review at 7:00PM, same place and date. Please email Tom Davis ( tom@ncloth.northsails.com) to indicate how many you’d like to sign up for the proposed 3:00PM party.
NEW TO RACING? SIGN UP TO CREW You don’t need prior sailing or sailboat racing experience to join in the fun of Guilford Cup racing. The CrewMatch form is available on the GYC website in the "Racing" area. Take a look – CrewMatch is the perfect way to indicate in which events you’d like to participate, how much or how little experience you have (the ranges run from expert tactician to "Passenger Only!"), and whether you’d like to be part of the Race Committee team (perfect for avid boaters who aren’t necessarily keen on sailboats).
